I'm in the reserves. I have not been in combat yet.
What do you think about Kerry getting the support of the enlisted men but not the officers? If my guess is wrong, it's wrong.

This is the first that I've heard of such a thing.
Personally, I think it's poppycock and further that it's a trial balloon.
Where do you get that from anyway? I'd like to know how you came by that assumption.

Oh, I see what you're getting at. You mean on this swift boat issue. I thought you meant the election in general.

From everything that I've read on the subject, and it is a lot, I think that they were expecting "easy pickings" and instead found that they've got a combine on their tail. I don't imagine any of those men expected anyone to say anything.
Furthermore, it appears that favors were done for those men and they may consider all of this as "paying him back" for keeping 'em safe.
I think they got their oars locked on sKerry's boat, for whatever reasons, and they're doomed now to go down with the ship.
Besides, there are some enlisted men who don't support sKerry so your implied "us vs them" scenario just doesn't wash. Either way, it's only their personal reputations at stake so they make or break theirselves.
