Just saw my first Obama bumpersticker.
Want I should try and find you one?
Luis Gonzalez's harping on Keyes is really unbelievable. When the GOP decides to endorse a candidate, for the good of the Party, Republicans ought to rally around the candidate in support. Illinois Republicans want Alan Keyes as their candidate; after the disenchantment caused by the Ryans and other watered-down Republicans, they want someone they can actually believe in again. That man is Alan Keyes and the Republican leadership in Illinois listened to the voices of Republican voters.
I was at the Keyes rally today in Arlington Heights and can assure you that the GOP actually severely underestimated the actual amount of people expected to show up at the acceptance speech. Easily, several hundred people were there and by the time the actual acceptance speech started, people had to line up outside the doors of the Wellington, because the place was filled up past capacity. The Republican voters in Illinois are thrilled that such a prolific speaker and true visionary was called upon to challenge Obama. The crowd was enthusiastic and supportive. The debates between Keyes and Obama will be heard not only throughout the state of Illinois, but throughout the entire nation. This election is truly one of ideas and will be remembered in history, as the Lincoln-Doulgas debates are.
