It would seem to me that a reporter should be able to - at the very least - appear to be unbiased and neutral. I believe that it is referred to as "journalistic integrity."

For a reporter to pen an introduction to a Presidential campaign book, and then to actually report on the campaign in a way clearly favorable to the candidate for which he wrote the forward, reflects badly on his judgment and the judgment of those who employ him.

I recommend you terminate his employment so that he can more fully devote his energies to the Kerry-Edwards campaign.
