I disagree with that argument 100%. The Democrats tried the same ploy with Hillary claiming party leaders invited her . . .

They claimed. In other words, they lied. Everyone knows Hillary chose New York, and she did so because it's the most liberal state in the union. Her chances of winning were therefore extremely high. They didn't need her. She needed them.

In Illinois, it is FACT that Keyes was drafted, not a claim. He was invited, Hillary invaded. There's no wiggling around that difference.

In many ways, since she won the primary, her carpetbagging can attempt to claim more legitimacy than Keyes' carpetbagging.

Oh, so if Keyes really HAD carpetbagged like Hillary, staked out the state, and invaded Illinois months ago with the intention of gaining political advantage, THEN it would be OK!

LOL

Be that as it may, a carpetbagger is a carpetbagger no matter how one contorts the circumstances of the carpetbagging.

I'm using the dictionary definition of carpetbagger. What one are you using?
