Werent the economists expecting something like 200,000 new jobs? This is pathethic. Unless Bush has a great August he is cooked unless we get a terrorist attack to scramble the election (and Im not cheering for that).

For those who think we are at or near full employment, consider the fact that the Battleground States for the most part have above average unemployment rates. Maybe those of you in Wyoming who want a job can get a new high paying job in one day, that isnt necessarily the case in Ohio or Michigan where this election is going to be decided.

The best indication of a bad economy is the number of those you know out of work. I live in a middle-class neighborhood of a rust-bucket state. I don't know anybody out of work. So unless these numbers herarld a huge unemployment increase in September, I wouldn't panic.

I agree with that. Overall its been a stellar year, but the job numbers have to be good. The next jobs report will come out I believe the day after he speaks at the convention in September and right before Labor Day weekend.

Yeah, the fact that here in MI we have a Democrat/Socialist Governor has nothing to do with the UE rate in the great lakes State lagging behind the rest of the nation. Of course, your comments are much like the "Proud Detroit Democrat's" comments.

It is laughable that the President is given more credit for the economy of a particular state than the Governor of that state is given. Heck, we might as well repeal all state soveriegnty and eliminate the self governence aspect of the constitution.

Yep. Anyone that doesn't see or admit this is just stupid or is simply playing politics.
