This contradicts the account of another swiftboat vet I heard today who says Kerry dug up "an obscure regulation" about being sent home after three Purple Hearts himself. Which would explain why he was so determined to get them awarded for self-inflicted splinters and rice wounds in the butt.

It doesn't contradict it directly since I doubt the commander made it public knowledge that Kerry was forced out. Consider it the "you're fired, no I quit" situation and the boss is magnanimous and lets you say you quit. But later on down the road, when the stakes are high the boss has enough of the lie and tells the truth. Meanwhile, the coworkers don't know the inside scoop. If you read Adm. Hoffman's remarks about the explosion incident, Kerry's was the only boat that bugged out instead of rendering aid to the damaged 3 boat. I suspect THAT was the straw that broke Wright's back.

Not necessarily a contradiction about the 3 purple heart rule. The man in this story doesn't say how he came to know about the rule....after all he was fairly young himself. They might well have found out through Kerry or through someone Kerry told.

When he got his third purple heart, that evening, and we didn't particularly care what it was for, we knew that he had three. That evening, I and two other people went in and told him that we felt that he should go home. It was something that he could do ... He told us that he didn't want that, it was his intention to serve his country, and the next morning he was gone. And we were happy and didn't worry about it.

Not sure where you see a contradiction.

We are talking about JFKerry who will say whatever is necessary to get what he wants. Now according to this --

"When he got his third purple heart, that evening, and we didn't particularly care what it was for, we knew that he had three. That evening, I and two other people went in and told him that we felt that he should go home. It was something that he could do ... There is no way JFKerry wanted it written anywhere that he was being sent home, and this appears to be a private meeting.

JFKerry is know for telling different stories to different people. He is not known for his honesty, and he has perfected his art of denial. We need only to check his words about "voting against additional spending" after he "voted for it".

What kind of a mind has the forethought to "reenactment" fake gun fights in the jungle, when he served on a "boat" and then spend the rest of his life continuously watching these "reenactment" over and over again?????

I watched Hannity & Colmes last night. I thought the Colmes side was right because the other swiftboat operators were not on his craft to observe his leadership skills...then I listen to the radio show.
Kerry has problems working with others and follow rules of engagement. He was a loose cannon and the other swiftboat operators were getting nervous with his recklessness out on patrol!
The swiftboats worked in groups. Kerry was not command of the swiftboats. He was a lowly LT(jg) just starting out. It sounds like Kerry didn't listen to instructions given to him by the group leader. His ego got in the way and trying to be another JFK. When Kerry was reprimanded for his rash actions, he gave many excuses why he didn't follow the rules. Kerry thought he was better than everybody else and didn't comprehend his actions were putting the group in danger. That's why they sent Kerry home. That's a character flaw throughout his life.
I rather stick with Bush. I think the man is honest. He will put his country first and not his ego. I trust Bush. I think the troops trust him too. We need real leadership during uncertain times.

I remember that too. I think we need to stick with the second story -- it makes more sense and it makes him look like a pathetic cowardly lawyer creep.

I forgot which one of Kerry's superiors said it, but I heard this in an interview: It was MUTUAL!! Kerry wanted out of Vietnam and his leadership wanted to get rid of him!
