How are we going to structure this leveraged buyout and a small equity stake. I'm in for a couple of shares. Is the NYTimes a publicly held company? Um. Don't think so.
Would be a good idea if it was. The Times leads the news, and any other major media outlet wouldn't have the same effect.

Yes, NY Times is publicly traded, and valued at over 6 billion dollars. I don't think we have that kind of change in our pockets

It would take a great deal of resources, but the way to bring down the Times is to discredit it in the eyes of its own peers. Came close with the Jayson Blair story, but more of that sort of thing is needed. Where's William Randolph Hearst when we need him?!
