Yes, but the problem with the idea that they are "protecting" something is that a missing person or a body is the one thing absolutely guaranteed to draw everyone's attention to you and have the police uncover every possible secret you may have been finding. The fact that the police have uncovered everything from Scott Peterson's affair to his cable porn subscriptions should make it pretty clear that the police will show up and will dig into everything if a person disappears or their body is found.

They are always think they smarter than the average murderer and think they would never be suspected because they had the facade of a great life, good marriage, wonderful persona, also they are impatient to solve"the problem". There are all those unsolved murder statistics to make them secure...if they are really thinking at all..

It is usually a suspension of all rational thinking that gets me. They get resentful and impatient.They don't want the hassle, the exposure of their real life, the time it takes or the financial burden of a divorce. Image is a powerful motivater and the ability to control. The WHY would they DO this always is my greatest frustration...
