Remember when the RATs ran that ad about the black in Jasper, Texas, and had Bush as the bad guy and it was his fault. Didn't hear them threaten to sue in 2000 and the ad was lies.

On the other hand, this is an ad run by an independent group, not Kerry's opponent. I wonder if that matters?

The chill wind only blows from right to left. Not from left to right.

Kerry's threatening to personally kick some ass?
To: All
Hannity just said only 1 of 23 officers serving with Kerry believe him.Spokesman just said Kerry's purple hearts were not earned! Long explanation follows.

There is nothing to explain, and it is
not a good question, because it was never in dispute.
THEY NEVER CLAIMED TO BE ON THE SAME BOAT. These are all officers and as such were serving on different boats.
And just to be clear, these were NOT large boats, and multiple boats worked together. It was not necessary to be ON Kerry's boat to be working WITH Kerry in battle.

I understand that the ad will be shown on Hannity and Colmes tonight. Let the DNC and Kerry sue Fox News Channel. Then let Kerry spend the rest of the campaign trying to prove in court that the ad is libelous.

It's easy - Think of the boat and it's crew as a squad, and several of the boats make up a platoon. You operate alone, and with the otehr squads. Did the guys in the other squads still serve with you? Able to see how you operated, led, commanded, etc...? I'd think that would be yes.
Just because they were not on the same 6-man boat doesn't mean they didn't interact on missions, and live, and serve with John Kerry.

Were there 2 Willie Horton ads? The one with the revolving door was not paid for by the Bush Campaign, if I recall (and that is the one the media seized on).

Just reported on Hannity:
The boxes that went out with the ads contained numerous sworn statements backing up the contents of the ads, as well as excerpts from the book.

OK, OK, don't hit me. I'm not accusing here. I'm just asking a question of my highly informed FReeper co-posters. Gotcha! Thank you.

I am feeling better about the whole situation, including this ridiculous lawsuit being threatened to the TV stations.
It is obvious to me that the DNC letter is simply "nuanced."

I just went there and he has it in red, also has a link to an article about the Amish supporting Bush, and totally off topic but I couldn't help but laugh at this quote from the article -
"If I know Republicans and their grass-roots operations, they'll spend most of their time trying to phone bank the Amish," said Kerry spokesman Mark Nevins.
Hey genius, they have no phones.

The webmaster for Swiftboat Veterans for Truth was just on Hannity's show. He said their website is under a DOS attack.
Very classy on the Kerry camp's part, eh?
