Thanks for not meaning to change me. I am not politically motivated, therefore, I cannot understand why anyone would risk a friendship over such things as politics and religion.

"And the ratio of men to women is about even. "

This should read "...the ratio of girly-men to women..."

He's not a wuss, he's just trying to get an evidently hot piece of ass. As far as sex is concerned, politics doesn't come into play for me.

I've been in a successful mixed marriaged for over 20 years. I'm Windows, she's MacIntosh. (Politically, my wife is to the right of Atilla the Hun, so we're pretty compatible there.)

After looking at your profile, I wanted to ask a couple of specific questions regarding this subject. Would you be friends, or would you date someone that supported confiscation of guns or outlawing of "loading your own"? How about being friends with or dating someone that ardently supports a Federal health care system?

"I'm now dating a nice Democrat, who I actually converted from a Republican,"

Once he tires of sex with her, he'll be back.

That's just the way these things work.

I was amazed by how much power the attractive and stylishly dressed brunette had over the opposite sex.

If not with something that requires medical attention.

Pretty loaded question..I'll attempt to answer it.

If I were already friends with this person, and just found out that they were anti-gun, or for Fed health..it would not matter, because we were friends for whatever reason.

I work with, and am friends with many people that don't agree with me...but we don't normally discuss politics or religion. My wife and I rarely, if ever, discuss politics or religion.

If I just met the person, and the first thing that they talked about was outlawing guns and having a Fed health plan, probably not, because it would turn me off if they came on strong about anything....but it really would depend more on what we did have in common, than what we did not have in common.

Mostly I would take each instance as it happened..I try to be open-minded, and not pre-judgemental...instincts have a lot to do with it.

Also -- I was a lib when we married.

It is a little painful at first but then it goes away. My wife was liberal, then after a few years: she acquired my Ruger P95 (still hasn't replaced it with anything yet), watches O'Reily and Hannity & Colmes with regularity, and generally shakes her head at the liberal members of her family because they just don't get it.

Needless to say, the transformation has all been blamed on me.

:-)

"Hope is on the way."

Anyone who falls for slogan remakes is out of the question.

I understand and appreciate your response. Clearly, I disagree with it, but I accept it as yours. For me, I believe that evil exists and one of the most evil actions is theft of property or human potential. The liberal philosophy is 100% built on the theft of both to give freely to those who have not earned it. To me, when I look at a liberal I see evil and it turns my stomach.

I must add that many Democrats are not liberal enough to be evil. Instead, they are misled by their own emotions and compassion to realize that a Democrat vote is an evil vote. Zel Miller comes to mind. I don't consider all Democrats to be evil, but I consider all Liberals to be evil.

Whew, it is good to see you would never think of letting a liberal guy touch Jbeachgrl5!

Yes, it's true, I screen all her dates. The lefties won't even get to first base! :)

My wife was liberal, ...

So was mine, until she (1) started making real money and paying real taxes, and (2) came to realize the evil of human sacrifice, I mean abortion, and the role "feminists" play in its propagaion.

I'm not easliy swayed by looks alone, and can't ever see myself dating a liberal.

But the guy mentioned in the article whom she "converted" was most likely bull$hitting her in order to get her in the sack.

His "conversion" is likely no more genuine than when a guy goes to see a chick flick on a date and says he liked it afterwards in order to close the deal. In other words, telling her what she wants to hear.

Not to be sexist, but this chick sounds like just another dumb skirt with stars in her eyes.

I should know - I used to lie, lie, and lie some more to get my way. LOL
