Aaahhh, the often used platform of hypocracy! Alas, I had forgotten about that one(and I wonder how I could while liberals get their knickers in a twist over the Swift Boat Ad when they said Farhenheit 911 was free speech and civil debate).

My husband had NO IDEA that he was conservative until I married him. Now, he's to the right of me, which really takes some doing.

Here in the Greater D.C. area it's on a par with "Catholic or Protestant" in Northern Ireland; along with similarly subtle visual and behavioral cues

WHAT the hell is that supposed to mean?
And I'm asking as an Irish Catholic girl - from the Republic of Ireland - who has MANY offers from Ulster Unionist blokes, whom I call friends.

Yep, count me among the Arnold and Maria stories. I've been married to a Democrat for 13 years now. It really only becomes an issue during election years when emotions can run high.

Times the are a-changin? I did a paper on "The Troubles" when I was a senior in high school back in the early eighties and maintained an interest for some years after. I know quite well a lot has been happening over the past decade but still I can't but wonder if these orangie blokes would dare ask out a catholic girl from the old neighborhood (or the other side of the "peace line" at any rate) as readily as they would when down south.

Well, maybe senior high school papers aren't quite a reflection on reality.

My UU mates are salt of the earth blokes.
I'm proud to call them my friends.

I could never date a modern Democrat. A Zell Miller type dem might be ok.

I am a lady of strong opinions and strong convictions and couldn't tolerate the mindset of the opposition.

Liberals come in 2 varieties, the elitists and the losers.

The elitists are generally totally phony no matter the letters behind their names. They may be literate in certain fields but lack comprehension of real history and real life.

The only reason they throw good parties are they are more likely to be sluts of either gender. They don't believe that actions have consequences and abortion is always an option.

"I've been married over 25yrs, and my wife and I have discussed politics and religion, maybe 5 times...for a total of 10 or 15 minutes. Those 2 subjects just aren't very impotant to either of us."

If it isn't important to you, Why are you here?

Why not? Gotta be somewhere, just because it's not interesting to my wife and I, doesn't mean I don't enjoy participating in on-line forums....besides, I've been here long enough to realise there are no prerequisites for being in a FR forum.
