I believe her maiden name was already hyphenated, Simoes- Ferreiro. Now that would be a mouthful--Teresa Simoes-Ferreiro-Kerry. I find it odd/funny that she keeps her first husband's name to share with the Kerry. I suspect it might have something to do with the prestige of the multimillion dollar name Heintz. Tuh-raze-ah

The enabling media tolerate these sleights of name because they refuse to criticize any 'ratic contender.
I read somewhere that Teresa never legally tacked on the Kerry name. She just added it on for the campaign-less confusing she said. She is still Teresa Heinz. She did change her voter registration to Democrat.
