Are you still working for Keyes or is this just your delusion talking? Have YOU seen the numbers...numbers BEFORE he even said "yes" to this anointment?

There is too much at stake this election to eat one of our own. Come on Louis, why don't you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?

Alan Keyes in 2000:

I deeply resent the destruction of federalism represented by Hillary Clinton's willingness go into a state she doesn't even live in and pretend to represent people there, so I certainly wouldn't imitate it.

Hildabeast lives in Washington, DC, where she owns a house. She does not live, and has never lived in New York.

Lets give Keyes a chance and see if he actually moves to Illinois.

*L* So if the Dalai Lama asked me to run for dogcatcher in his home town, I wouldn't be a carpetbagger in Tibet?

but it seems this just about locks up the state for Kerry. anyone disagree??

I don't get your logic.

Do you have a better alternative candidate than Alan Keyes?

Besides, I see the Keyes nomination as a huge opportunity to showcase the diversity of thought within the Republican Party.

Even if the GOP fails to win in Illinois, I believe this will go a long way toward showing African Americans that they have someplace to go politically besides the Democrat Party.

the day after the Obama speech at the DNC convention, The Washington Times ran an article that quoted delegates as saying "Obama and Hillary in '08, that's the ticket!"

That, of course, raises the question: do those delegates actually believe Kerry/Edwards will win? If so, why would they anticipate an Obama/Hillary ticket in '08 when two Dems would be in the White House?

Now I don't want to make TOO much of a big deal about this, but where have you been when we needed somebody to say that on threads where everybody is bitching and moaning about Bush 43?

Well, if he is campaigning full time, how do you expect him to pay his bills? Its not like Keyes is loaded with money like Mr. Ketchup or the Breck Girl.

And sell his property in MA.

No, I'm not working for Alan currently. I'm doing party get-out-the-vote work at the moment.

But I have looked at the numbers.

The race is winnable.

"Obama is from Hawaii in the sense that he was born in Hawaii."

And grew up in Hawaii and didn't leave the state until he went to college. He didn't move to Illinois until after he graduated from law school.

Of course, Obama has lived in IL for over 12 years, while Keyes will have lived in IL for less than 3 months by the time Election Day rolls by, but I seriously doubt that Illinoisians will vote for Obama over Keyes just because Obama has lived longer in IL, any more than they would vote for George Ryan over Obama just because George Ryan has lived longer in IL than Obama has. Obama and Keyes should, and will, be judged on the merits.

That is if the house of cards the Clintons are living in right now doesn't come tumbling down on them before her big shot.

But at least Bobby had lived in N.Y. a bit,as a kid. That's far more than Hillary and now Alan has ever done in N.Y. and Ill.,respectfully.And I am NOT making excuses for Bobby Kennedy, whom I FREEPED,before there ever was such a thing,at a rally on Long Island.
