After it came to light that the DNC lawyers are trying to intimidate TV stations, I upped my contribution to $50.

I can't open the website to view the video. Any tips? I've heard the audio several times today and the production quality is AWESOME.

Why don't we wait and see how it plays with people before we rally round the boys?

I am donating $500 to this ad campaign tonight.

I just saw the commercial for the first time tonight. I want to contribute to help get it on radio and television. My credit card is in hand, but I can't get through to swiftvets.com or any of the related links. Were you able to donate? Are there any other contribution links that are working?

I just sent an e-mail to Sean Hannity. Don't know if it will do any good, but here it is:

Dear Sean:

Thank you SO much for airing the Swift Boat Ad.
Thank you so much for not being afraid of the liberal threats against you.
Thank you so much for standing up for the truth.

BRAVO for pointing out that we want to know whether Kerry really committed atrocities!!
If he did, he is not fit to be our president.
If he did not commit atrocities, then he lied and he is still not fit to be our president.

We got enough lies from the man who occupied the White House from 1992 to 2000.
May God help us!

Why was it that Mr. Rassman was allowed to tell his side of the story in peace, but that Susan Estrich kept interrupting Mr. O'Dell and kept treating him like a criminal on the witness stand? She was screeching, hateful and disgusting.

Please tell the Fox Station owners this:
If Fox News Network turns into a CNN clone, which attacks anybody that dares to disagree with their point of view, then I might as well go back to watching CNN.
Fox will lose its audience, and I'll be one of the ones who will leave!!
Never forget who gave you your success..it was NOT the liberal watchers!!
Please get rid of Susan Estrich...she is terrible...and her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard.
Thank You

Long-time watcher, first time writer,
******
PS: I want to hear the rest of Mr. O'Dells story. He never got to finish saying what happened when the four people fell into the water. We never got to hear his side. Estrich prevented it. Is she trying to hide something? (the truth, maybe?)
If you are interested in a ratings increase, bring several of the Swift Boat Veterans back and let them finish their sentence, for crying-out-loud.
And, please, play the ad a few more times. The American People will be able to sort it out.

As many of you have seen, some of our "friends" at Fox News are saying the Swift Vets should cease and desist. I like most of those talking heads, but I'm donating tonight. This ad is like hemlock for Kerry, too bad it's not Hitlery getting some hemlock also.

This is undoubtedly one of the best monologues I've ever heard Rush give.

He spoke my heart and passion on the rank hypocritical left. O'Reilly, Dick Morris, Brit Humes "all-star" panel, and the rest would have done well to tune into to Rush today before shooting their mouths off...but wait...These were also some of the same talking heads who thought Kerry gave a terrific convention speech.

EXCELLENT JOB, RUSH! ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT!!!

John Kerry’s entire life has been a stage play. Fortunately he is not original. His service in Viet Nam was scripted, as was his Silver Star. For that he took a page from Lyndon Johnson’s playbook. Lyndon Johnson’s Silver Star It is disturbing that someone would be so manipulative and self-serving in the pursuit of power but it is more disturbing that it has worked - so far.

During those years in the Senate Kerry was far from inactive. He kept a low profile while dogging Reagan and Bush I. He kept his ideological cast but provided no great target for a future race for the White House. He was watching every race to see what went wrong and what went right. You can recognize themes from past races in every speech. He learned from Clinton to go into your weaknesses early and define them before your opponent can. What he speaks loudest about is what he considers his weakest points.

His campaign is completely formulistic. What is formulistic is predictable. What is predictable is defeatable, but not by a constrained approach. He has already accounted for the expected rebuttal.

There are things that the Bush campaign just cannot say and will not say. Normally you would expect Republican Senators to realize this and step up, say what needs to be said and give the campaign some running room in the middle, but they haven’t. If they go too far outside they run the risk of someone saying something really stupid.

This ad is perfect. These are credible guys with a credible message. They are a pinprick in a large balloon. Kerry is worried. He has known that these guys were out there. I have no doubt that the 32 page response was prepared a long time ago.

Better yet. this is a water cooler ad. It is being shown and talked about in the news segments. It’s effectiveness is magnified. Every person who sees it is going to discuss it with ten more around the water cooler. It may not affect the polling numbers but it has reset the dynamics of the race. It’s a winner.

I've done what I can to promote this effort through my latest column, which should be published on ChronWatch.com by the end of today (Saturday). As I just explained to a couple media people I'm friends with, John Kerry has a blind spot which I first observed in debating against him 41 years ago.

He tends to fall in love with his own ideas, and lacks the perspective to see the holes in his own logic, or the counterattacks that are likely to come. Applying that to the Swift Boat ads, Kerry made the decision to make Vietnam the centerpiece of his acceptance speech without considering the counterattack that would be generated. He opened the door, now others are driving a truck through that door.

(Bob J, I've had some computer crashes of late. Are my columns still going to the proper person in FRN? If not, please send me an e-mail reminding me of the e-mail addy of the correct person.)

A video released last week by the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth (www.swiftvets.com), an organization aiming to refute John Kerry’s Vietnam war record, proves to be highly effective in raising questions among Independents about the Democratic candidate's military service.

The Swift Boat video – primarily a montage of outspoken Vietnam veterans claiming that Kerry has lied about his Vietnam service – was found by a majority of Independents to be persuasive, with 53.89% responding that this was the case.
