Does that mean it's ... who? Vinne Testaverde at QB?

I would assume so. After all, I don't think Drew Henson would be ready, would he ? At least not mentally as far as making reads, knowing the offense, etc. Perfect situation for him. The old veteran teaches him and then shows him what it looks like on the field. The Cowboys offensive line seems to be really coming together from what I've been reading, so late in games when the Boys are blowing people out, Vinnie could get some rest and give Drew some reps. Everybody knows Drew is the QB of the future.

This doesn't make sense at all. Just a couple of days ago their head coach Bill Parcells was saying that Quincy had a leg up on the other QBs because he was their best QB last year and until somebody outplayed him, it was his job to lose. There is absolutely NO WAY that Parcells decided in the 2 days since then that Carter was a lost cause and that Vinny was the man - decision over. Even if Carter hadn't played well in camp thus far and Vinny had, no coach, certainly not Parcells, would suddenly take the job away from the incumbent and give it to someone else. NO WAY. That's what training camp is about - to see who is better. You don't decide who is better before your first exhibition game.

No, if Carter is truly gone from the Cowboys something big happened. I can only guess what that might be. It's possible he was found to have a serious drug problem. I would be greatly disappointed in Carter if that turns out to be the case, as I thought he had much more character than that. It could be he got into a very heated discussion with Parcells and told Parcells to shove it. It could be something else entirely. All I know is that this is simply not a case of Parcells deciding that Vinny is the starter and so he's cutting Carter. EVEN IF he had already decided that Vinny would be the starter (which he didn't) I don't think you'd cut Carter. You DO need a backup, and their other QB is extremely raw. He's not in any way ready to be a 2nd-stringer on any team. Something weird happened.
