For conservative punks, it’s about (equal) time
MSNBC ^ | 6/3/04 | By Michael E. Ross

“God bless President Bush, and God bless America!” shouted Johnny Ramone, center, flanked by Dee Dee Ramone, left, and Marky Ramone at the Ramones’ induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2002. Johnny Ramone's statement pointed to the growing impact of conservatism on younger voters.

Johnny Ramone's statement pointed to the growing impact of conservatism on younger voters.

Each member of the Ramones is older than John Edwards. I think MSNBC thinks anyone who isn't in AARP is a "younger voter".

Good article paltz. Thanks.

Today's kids are no dummies. They know this will be theirs to run someday. 9/11 was an eye-opener for them that counterbalances all the nonsense from the left that would have otherwise gone unchallenged. Adults got pissed kids got scared. In the long run we'll all be better for this awful lesson.

Most of the younger voters they Ramone was commenting about in this article are fighting the war on terror. Regardless of his age, his statement of fact stands out on his own.

I'm not advocating we go to war during every upcoming generation, but this country and the rest of the world (whether they like it or not) is far better off when the young generation fight to protect all that is that makes America and the world great.

In WWII was as Brokaw said "The Greatest Generation", we're living in the age of the 21st Century equivalent of the 20th Century's "Greatest Generation". The same generation born from the parents of the anti-war peacenik bunch.

Questionable Intelligence Hello to all the freedom lovers out in the ether: Many of you are concerned with seeing a fair and balanced election this voting year due to complications and mismanagement four years ago. I would like to call your attention to a forthcoming record that will no doubt summarize many of your feelings leading up to this year's election.

You're probably right. I appreciate his support. These days, I'm grateful these days when any celebrity turns out not to be a flaming liberal loon.

I just thought the writer of this article is stuck in some sort of time warp. The Ramones are old enough to be grandfathers.

Dawg, YEAH! Wow, I didn't know we had him on our side.

We need to get a tour together for him, Nuge, and Toby Keith. All at once...

But:

BONZO GOES TO BITBURG--Ramones
You've got to pick up the pieces c'mon, sort your trash
You better pull yourself back together maybe you've got too much cash
Better call, call the law when you gonna turn yourself in? Yeah

You're a politician don't become one of Hitler's children

Bonzo goes to bitburg then goes out for a cup of tea
As I watched it on TV somehow it really bothered me
Drank in all the bars in town for an extended foreign policy
Pick up the pieces

No no-no-no, my brain is hanging upside down
No no-no-no, I need something to slow me down
No no-no-no, my brain is hanging upside down
No no-no-no, and I need something to slow me down

Shouldn't wish you happiness, wish her the very best
Fifty thousand dollar dress shaking hands with your highness
See through you like cellophane you watch the world complain, but you do it
anyway who am I, am I to say

Bonzo goes to Bitburg and goes out for a cup of tea...

No no-no-no, my brain is hanging upside down...

If there's one thing that makes me sick
It's when someone tries to hide behind politics
I wish that time could go by fast
Somehow they manage to make it last

Johnny Ramone voiced his opposition to that song, but the other Ramones won out.
