If "aerosols" are keeping the earth cool, bring back Freon 22 for our ACs.

Now that more evidence threatens to debunk global warming, they try to spin this old one from the 70s to say we are cooling off...it never ends, does it?

I can't find the corresponding photograph, but I remember the slogan:

"We're Doomed."

For now, scientists continue to gather data on solar dimming and puzzle through the climatological consequences. “It's going to be extremely difficult,?says Ramanathan, noting the vagaries of readings. “We don't know the quality of the measurements.?

Of course if this ADDED to global warming, the 'scientists' would just take these measurements and multiply them by 10 and insert this effect into the model. But since it cools the earth, the effect will be conveniently ignored.

I just returned from a fishing trip in the Queen Charlotte Islands in British Columbia.

While out on the water in a small boat, I saw high flying aircraft making contrails in a clear blue sky. I assumed they were commercial aircraft from California, taking the polar route to Europe (or something like that).

What was amazing was to see the effect of the contrails over time. From a clear blue sky, within an hour or so, the contrails expanded to large high clouds which covered a good portion of the sky.

High flying aircraft are making clouds. And, I'm guessing, no one knows the effect of that.

Albedo is a significant factor in any "global warming" or "global cooling" scenario.

It has been widly held that water vapor is the big key.

It is both the most potent of the so called "greenhouse" gasses.

And, as noted in the study, as cloud cover, it is also particularly effective in increasing albedo.

As polar ice, it can significantly effect albedo as well. Ice caps reflect a lot of incident energy. Oceans absorb a lot.

It is quite complex.
