Today is primary election day in Missouri, Kansas and Michigan.
The biggest high-profile race is in Missouri where Gov Bob Holden (D) is trying to fight off a primary challenge from State Auditor Claire McCaskill. The race is supposed to be too close to call. The winner of the Dem primary will face Sec of State Matt Blunt (R) in November. In CD-3, there's a wide-open primary for Dick Gephardt's seat with Russ Carnahan, the son of Mel & Jean Carnahan, the front-runner in the Dem primary.
In Kansas, the big event is the GOP primary in CD-3 between Adam Taff, Kris Koback and Pat Lightner. Taff is seeking a re-match with Rep Dennis Moore. The continuing feud between moderates and Christian conservatives will continue today as precinct committeeman and woman positions as chosen in the GOP primary.
In Michigan, it's relatively quiet except for the CD-7 GOP primary for the seat of retiring Rep Nick Smith. Another classic conservative vs moderate battle is occurring between Brad Smith (son of Nick) and State Senator Joe Schwarz.
Who's gonna win? Why? Opinions anyone?
I have been watching channel 2 news and it looks like Charles Jaco is very upset at his buddy Holden going down in flames !! Poor little liberal Jaco ....
Holdens camp has got to be screaming for those St.Louis city and Kansas City districts to keep punching those ballots !!! The number is rather large though, I think he is toast. Thanks goodness...
They said there were some polling places in the north side that ran out of ballots, ....again.... Some things never change.
I'm suspicious of this, too.
County Precincts Reporting: 38 of 38 State Precincts Reporting: 612 of 612 CANDIDATE COUNTY VOTES COUNTY % STATE VOTES STATE % R-Kris Kobach 1674 41 % 38124 44 % R-Patricia Lightner 804 20 % 9944 12 % R-Adam Taff 1573 39 % 38037 44 %
FYI
It will be an uphill battle with all the Torie-ites in Kansas falling over themselves to keep a conservative out of Congress, but it will at least be close, whether a win, we'll see.
Kobach wins over Taff by 84 VOTES!
My word.
CLOSE.
I hope he knows what he is doing or we will lose.
I just don't trust Taff after last time.
So did Dain win or not?
---> throws flag on self, 10 yard penalty, piling on.

Get 'im in 2006 :)
Looks like the folks who endorsed Bisbee goofed this one up for the conservatives.
By the way, this one evil RINO is a big fan of Coburn. I'm going to send him a check. Cheers.
Yeah, yeah, I know. What's that saying about blind squirrels playing with their nuts?
Don't be so hard on yourself.
Walberg came in out of nowhere. I'm shocked there. He was in last place in the polls consistantly.
Bisbee was the establishment choice. He got RTL's endorsement and the Chambers. They don't look so good right now. If they stayed out, I think Smith or Walberg would have taken it. DeRossett got many of the gun endorsements(although I THINK NRA may have stayed out). Same type of case with them. I think the lesson learned is that grassroots aren't sheep and can think for themselves.
Unfortunatly, I was right with my top prediction.
Look at the numbers. I think a lot of Dems voted in the primary. What do you think?
MO 'NO GO' HOMO BLO
Depends where the numbers came in. Calhoun and to a lesser extent - Eaton is his base since that's where his senate seat was.(Although Eaton is erratic since they'll back Schwarz, Granholm, and Sue Tabor who is possibly the most right wing member of the house)
