Raj Narendran canceled his phone service. Michael Bates no longer buys his wife's favorite spiral ham. Michael Dobbins won't go near an interstate bank to do business.
The three are among a group of political partisans who are tailoring their shopping habits to their party affiliations. They use the Internet to track the donations of companies such as Wal- Mart Stores Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and H.J. Heinz Co.

Well, IMHO, there are two ways you can influence what's going on in this country.
One is with your vote, and the other is with your pocketbook.
I have every right to abstain from supporting companies that support people and ideas that are not in keeping with my views.
Does it have an effect? You might ask wine producers of France if it has an effect? Or contact SlimFast and see if people's voices and a threatened boycott matter?

Well, I for one refuse to go to Costco after the outrageous statements that their CFO's made awhile back. If you want to donate to the other side, I'm okay with that. When you go off the reservation with Michael Moore type statements, thats when I guess I draw the line in my mind.

In fact I am ordering more for the future. It's taste is very much like Heinz. My 14 year old son likes it much more. He has even stopped eating ketchup if we are out and there is no choice but Heinz.
It is well worth the investment, besides if you save one of the bottles, unopened, you may have a collectors item in the future.
And even if that small act doesn't have the impact I might want it to have, spending my money with my friends rather than with my political opponents makes me feel better.

Heinz CEO William Johnson supports Republican candidates, including a $1,250 donation to Bush's re- election campaign. He hasn't given to the Democratic Party or Kerry's campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records.
I believe that by boycotting Heinz that you are hurting fellow conservatives much more than Teresa Heinz.
I like that banana sauce stuff better than ketchup!
