Union folk are just people. So are the evil capitalists...like me! :)
Capitalism has brought better lives to more people than any other system. Socialism and communism--yes, yes, I know, they've never been done right--NO system has been done perfectly, and the value of any system lies in what it can achieve even in an imperfect state, because they will never reach a state of perfect operation--those evils have brought the world a hundred million or more dead. All the sentiments about "what if" don't change that.
In its present state the union system is dying in this country. I am not one of these "to heck with the unions" types, but there has to be something else. One reason for the demise of unions is something leftists refuse to acknowledge--that these "stupid" non-union workers are getting good lives without the unions.
