"One of the lyrics is: "They don't respect us so let's surprise them. We'll drop the big one and pulverize them."

Yeah, we are dropping nukes faster than WalMart is dropping prices. I can't see Henley's target audience, let's say somewhere between 35 and 55, being energized to the point of singing along with these song lyrics. What is The Don thinking?

On the other hand, maybe he is stating the we "should" drop a Big One on France.

You should put MM on the back of that bus. He is fat enough to cause the paved road to give way and sink that bus!

Ronstadt used to hire musicians out of the musicians union in SOCAL to do tours with her. One of the groups that toured with her became the Eagles.

I predict that the Saratoga concert will make Henley happy. The Commie base in Santa Cruz will turn out and cheer him on.

HEY...DON!

SHUT UP AND SING

Don Henley should be booed for the music he unleashed on an unsuspecting populace in the 70s.

"We used to be able to have civil debate in this country. Not anymore."

Said as he prepares to sing a song accusing Bush/Cheney of wanting to drop atomic bombs all over the world. True, Don, it's impossible to have civil debate with a**holes like you who make false and irresponsible comments about the president.

Some years back I heard that he is a sex freak and like his women fairly young (teens). This was just what I heard so I can't confirm that it is true. However, the person that told me this was a former model and swung with that crowd. I should add this person was not one of my close friends and I did not hang out with her.

"I think it's an anti-American song myself, but that's just my take on it."

I don't see how anyone could NOT see that as anti-American or at least anti-Bush.

"We used to be able to have civil debate in this country. Not anymore."

Everybody who disagrees with THEM is now considered uncivil.

According to the Register, Henley responded: "Whoops – Orange County," adding, "We used to be able to have civil debate in this country. Not anymore."

Don Henley will need to jog my memory and cite some examples when he paid to sit in an audience and that he quietly suffered the "conservative" political comments made by an entertainer from the stage.

Hippie maggots used to co-opt the stages of free concerts in the 1960s to turn them into political rallies but the crowd was not there to be indoctrinated, they were there to hustle chicks, score dope, and relax.

It is called "debate", isn't the audience is permitted to voice their displeasure?

These libs need to start indicating in promotional litter-ature for these concerts that they are in actuality liberal political rallies, a portion of which will include stage time railing against the President and in favor of traitors who support the terrorists in Iraq (people like Michael Moore).

Linda Ronstadt had also been making her Michael Moore LOVE dedication every show, it just wasn't until Las Vegas that it made print (the management shut the show down).

"Since when is having the sole speaking platform a debate? People booed, which was the only way for them to show their displeasure. There was no debate, it was simply someone using the time that they should spend singing talking."

Bravo! This is so to the point and precisely the point.

Well Lloyd Bensten is on record as urging the public to tell Congress that they should use the nuclear bomb in Korea, the footage is in the film "The Atomic Cafe". I wonder if Mr. Henley endorsed Dukakis-Bentsen in 1988. I certainly doubt he wanted Bush-Quayle.

It's probably true. I did read somewhere about his fetish for young teenage girls. I'm going to go over to my CD collection and make sure I don't have any Don Henley disc's. If I do, I will happily destroy them and add Henley to my ever growing list of so called entertainers never to support.

Radicals and Refuse? I question whether the Eagles, Don Henley, or Linda Ronstadt are/were rock and roll ;)
