They're sure not going to bite the hand that's putting the slop in their trough! I think it's only going to get worse.

Those putting the slop in the trough use the Wall St. Journal as their mouthpiece. Watch the venom come from that paper over Arizona's initiative to cut off illegal alien benefits and against pro-enforcement candidates. Any hint of stopping illegal immigration practically causes the vains to pop out from their heads, profits mean that much to them.

So I agree, things are going to get much worse before it's get better, very powerful forces do not want that border controlled.

I'll bet you're right. And the WSJ will be sure and wrap themselves in that warm, fuzzy multi-culti blanket we were talking about earlier - all in the name of altruism, of course, for the illegals (wink, wink).

Of course, what better way to mask the real agenda of greed than to wrap it in a package called kindness, compassion and diversity?

The WSJ op ed pages just represent a foolish attitude that has no connection to the real world. Do these people not realize that they are in the process of making their own noose? I know I am repeating myself, but the current trends of importing cheap labor + the displacement of American born workers though importation of cheap labor and export of cheap jobs will produce a govrenment that will push for a European Style welfare state.

If trends continue, business owners, managers and those in the "investor class" in 10 years will wonder why they are in a 50% tax backet, + paying an extra 15% to state and local taxes and fees. Why? To support the people they displaced and the people they imported though govrenment programs.

You're exactly right. That's what's coming - unless the WSJ and our elites can build some really big ovens and convince all the displaced workers they're showing free movies inside. :)

Anyone with common sense can see what is coming unless the trends are stopped, though it may be too late to stop these trends. I really do not know what is up with the mainstream Conservative movment, some just say this because of pure greed, but more and more I just think that so called mainstream Conservatives/Neo-Cons are in an echo chamber.

They need to get out in Flyover Country more so they can see what their policies have wrought.

That's very true, unless the US has a strong and robust middle class the country will sink into third world status, and it's not a conservative position to want to see that happen. Supporters of massive illegal immigration are only looking at the short-term while ignoring long-term trends of real declining wages and rising tax burdens.

No doubt if it ever gets too expensive to live in the US those pushing current policies will simply pack up for cheaper pastures somewhere else leaving the rest of us holding the bag.

I've been honest and told you why I'm so against it. Why don't you reciprocate?

The silence is deafening, must be the "jobs Americans won't do" excuse is the only one he can think of at the moment.

I have seen him in other threads, his awnsers do not go beyond the cheap rhetoric that he reads in the WSJ op ed pages, possibly the Weekly Standard. How people can not see the bigger picture, I do not know, either a lack of intelligence or a lack of education, or they do know what the big picture is and only want to line their pockets in the short term and as Eagle said, go to greener pastures.

This is what we need more of:

Attorneys Seek To Freeze Assets Of Staffing Agencies' Owners

Start jailing the employers of illegals, seizing their assets and publically outing them. That's the surest way of stopping the invasion.

"......a little secret here....don't let it get out though....Bush family is from Greenwhich CT. "

Too late. 43 let it slip when he asked me to point out his old next door neighbor because 41 had told him to say hello. But he swore that he escaped CT when he was still a little boy.

We were just as safe and sovereign for most of our history when we allowed unlimited laborers from Mexico. Despite what Buchanan said, you are not more likely to choke on a meatball because the operator is bilingual.

Typical of Buchanan supporters to hate profits and want the government to force employers to pay them wages they don't deserve.

I don't believe we have allowed unlimited Mexican labor for most of our history, but take that as a personal challenge to prove me wrong. Not that it matters, since your premise is wrong, but the number of illegals populating our prisons should at least give a clue just how safe we are. In fact I think we are damn lucky that Mexicans are Catholic and not Muslim, or we would be dead instead of broke. I do agree with you that Buchanan's meatball commercial was pretty stupid.

What is actually typical is open borders/free traders talking supply and demand out of one side of their mouth, and the God given right to control wages out the other side. Seriously, how do you figure what is a fair wage? Isn't this the exact same thing the minimum wage activists do on the other side? Better check to see if you really are a conservative, or just another self-interested beggar looking for a subsidy at everyone else's expense.

"Seriously, how do you figure what is a fair wage? "

I always asked for as much as I could get and paid as little as I could get by with. That's fair for me.

I've never had to hire union labor, so I've been able to pay a little more to employees I didn't want to lose. Employee morale is important to me so I encourage them to think I'm paying them more than I have to and more than they could get down the street.

"why you're so enamored of illegal aliens"

I'm not, I just dislike people like Buchanan who are trying to stir up the issue in order to undermine President Bush's support among conservatives.

"Ok, you nutcase, substitute "White" or "Black" in place of Hispanic. "

Anyone owning an ice hockey team who won't hire whites is at a disadvantage. Is that what you wanted?
Or how about: "Anyone in the rap music production business who won't hire blacks is at a disadvantage."
Or maybe this: "Anyone in the igloo building business who won't hire Eskimoes is at a disadvantage". Want more?
