Could it be because the article you posted was dated August 2, right after the alert was issued and a lot of the media was still speculating that it was based on old material? A lot has been learned over the past couple of days -- there was a lot of new intelligence taken from the computer and other sources as well. Still, it doesn't explain the R4E's story was pulled.
