The reason for a Jewish state is to provide a location where Jews can live in peace. Many of those who move to Israel do so because they find themselves unable to live as Jews in their country of origin.

It is sad that these people move to Israel, let down their guard and then are induced by missionaries operating under false pretenses to abandon the faith of their ancestors. It is doubly sad since in many cases these people's parents recognized that their children were becoming alienated from their faith, and the parents decided to move to Israel to revitalize their connection to the Jewish people.

I don't know why you think that missionaries have a perfect right to approach these people in Israel, a foreign country, and trick them into believing that they can accept Christianity and continue to be true to their Judaism.

So are you saying Jesus had no right to preach at the Temples in Jerusalem? he had no right to question the Jewish elders? Jesus was the first missionary I guess you could say. Was it agaisnt the law in Israel to have a following of Jews as Jesus did?

Jesus was accused of leading the people of Israel astray and they wanted to rid him, are you saying Israel still feels this way?

Judaism is based in the OLD TESTAMENT history of Jesus Ancestors, so therefore the Holidays, Feasts and Holy Days of the Jewish people are practiced by many Christians. Christians are also descendents of Seth, son of Adam and Eve, and sons of God by adoption (gentiles).

The gospel is to be preached to all nations until the return of Jesus, that was his instruction. When the UN, and Nations stop that and draw their armies up against Israel, you had better run cause JESUS is on the way!!! That's a given Biblical Prophecy.

I'm not arguing against this idea at all.

It is sad that they would be induced by missionaries operating under false pretenses. My point is that under democracy, the information should be availble freely to those who want to learn about the Christian perspective of Jesus and his claim to be the Jewish messiah. If they want to protect their Jewish faith from Christian influence, then maybe they should stop pretending to be a democracy and make and enforce laws against conversion to other religions. My orginal point is that it would be more effective for them to develop methods to train their own people how to answer the claims made by Christian missionaries in the context of freedom of religion and freedom to convert.

I don't know why you think that missionaries have a perfect right to approach these people in Israel, a foreign country, and trick them into believing that they can accept Christianity and continue to be true to their Judaism.

I don't know why you believe that this is my position. I don't accept any method of tricking people into believing something that they don't want to believe (which is a silly concept to begin with), but in a democracy shouldn't there be freedom for Jews who have become followers of Jesus to integrate their two faiths into whatever world view they choose?

I have relatives who are Jews, relatives who are Messianic Jews, and relatives who are Gentile Christians, so I keep track of this stuff. The charge is made that the Messianics "induce" or "trick" people. I don't believe this is accurate. They are very upfront about who they are: Jewish people who take their Jewish heritage extremely seriously, but who also are convinced that Jesus is the Messiah. In Israel they take very rigorous steps, insisting that kids without parental permission slips be kept out.

The Messianics may be wrong, but they are very clear about who they are.

If there's any trickery going on, that isn't right. But trust me, no one can be tricked into the kingdom of God. It is a conversion of the spirit. Christ is a Jew, and he was the Passover Lamb who cam to seek and save that which was lost. That includes Jews as well.

Messianic Brothers around the world are fighting just as hard for Israel as the Orthodox Jews who live there.
Christians by the millions have been defending Israel in government, military, and faith based programs against the enemies of Zion.

Jesus was the champion of Israel and the people of Jewish faith. To turn a cold shoulder to the Messianic, and Christian brothers and sisters of Israel, is a grave mistake.

Either Jesus was the Son of God or he wasn't.

There are eternal ramifications for one group or the other depending on which senario is true. You think it's sad because Christian's want to talk about it. I think it's sadder that you would rather choose silence, than to explore the issues and discover the truth.

What if they were local Christians instead of Foreign missionaries, would that make a difference?
