Pataki: "Dean is an embarrassment"
CNN via Kerry Spot ^ | August 2, 2004 | Jim Geraghty

New York Gov. George Pataki is not known as a fire-breathing conservative. So when he brings out the rhetorical big guns, it's a signal that it's safe for the GOP moderates to lock and load. From his CNN appearance:

PATAKI: “Judy, I think Howard Dean is an embarrassment. I mean, he almost makes Michael Moore look objective in how he analyzes these situations, and the American people got to know him during the campaign and rejected him. The sad part is that his policies and his warped beliefs are having a significant impact on Senator Kerry's policies. Senator Kerry talked about being tough in the war on terror, but he essentially adopted the Dean line when he had to do it to get through at the Democratic primaries."

I'll bet that this is not the last we see of Howard Dean's statement.

Lieberman pretty much said the same thing about Dean on CNN on Sunday and no one picked it up.

Dean REALLY stepped in it yesterday. I'm wondering if the DNC put him up to it, or did he just go off on his own. At any rate, he certainly gave the Dems a black eye.

Nutty as a fruitcake and voters know it. It's wonderful watching him and Kerry and the other loons lead the democrat party -- over the cliff.

Add Dean to the long list of DEM weirdos:
-- Al Sharpton
-- Al Gore
-- Hillary Clinton
-- Ralph Nader
-- Dennis Kucinich
-- Levy
-- Bob Kerrey
-- Nancy Pelosi

They make Bill Clinton seem normal

Funny, I have remarked since late last week that Thereza H-K makes Hilly seem like Patrick Henry.

Gore and Dean belong in their own category.

Judy, I think Howard Dean is an embarrassment.

He's not an embarrassment to the jackass party--no more than a child molester is an embarrassment to NAMBLA.

Senator Kerry talked about being tough in the war on terror, but he essentially adopted the Dean line when he had to do it to get through at the Democratic primaries."

Exactly. In one interview Kerry actually described himself as in the antiwar camp, when he was running against Dean.

Now that he's running against Bush he's the biggest hawk there ever was.
This man is so phoney I can't stand it.

Brilliant statement.

Puts Kerry in a no-win with any response he gives.

1) He can defend Dean and look like (more of a) doofus.

2) He can kick Dean out of the top tier of his surrogates and alienate Dean which will bring with him a lot of Loony Leftists.... to Nader, best case for us.

I read that, yes, the Kerry campaign used him as their attack dog.

Even though Kerry knew, after getting his own briefings, that there were plans to attack the U.S.were real, he needed someone to say that Bush had not done enough and that it was all political.

Dean was his man to play the fool for Kerry's follies. Pretty sad, if you ask me.

The sad part is that his policies and his warped beliefs are having a significant impact on Senator Kerry's policies.

This is why Kerry has a "dead cat" boost in the polls. Dean is one dumb Som-Be-atch

Dean has to date, refused to provide his computerized list of grassroots supporters........I've heard that he will now provide Kerry the list for his own use. The list is almost exclusively the membership list over at DU.
