Statement by Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox
George W. Bush ^ | August 2, 2004

Posted on 08/02/2004 11:00:25 AM PDT by RWR8189

LANSING, MI — Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox issued the following statement today:

"Michigan voters want a President who says what he thinks, not what he thinks his audience wants to hear. John Kerry supports the auto industry when he's in Michigan, but back in Washington gives in to extreme environmentalists and supports higher fuel efficiency standards that would kill Michigan jobs. Michigan workers aren't going to trust John Kerry's pandering, and they can't afford a candidate whose plans for higher taxes and more regulation will derail our economic recovery.

"John Kerry likes to talk down the 1.5 million jobs that have been created over the past ten months, but he doesn't like discussing his 19-year Senate record. Kerry is ranked the Senate's most out of the mainstream member--voting in favor of the Iraq War and then voting against $87 billion in funding to send our troops essential supplies like body armor. Michiganders should ask Kerry why they should trust the War on Terror to someone who missed 38 of 49 Intelligence Committee hearings and claims to be 'proud' of voting against funding for troops he voted in favor of sending to war.

Why do state Democratic Attorney Generals care more about politics than they do with enforcing laws?

Mike Cox has a bright future ahead of him. He really fired up the crowd in GR last week.

Sorry, but Mike Cox is also the clown who's declared war against "deadbeat dads" in the widest possible definition. If this turd came out in support of Christ, I'd start looking into Buddism.

PS, If you know of a single elected official who doesnt care about politics, I've got a bridge to sell ya.

Seems like this guy is just speaking out on what's best for Michigan in his opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

Pretty cool that he pegged Kerry for the say-anything do-nothing politician that he is.

He is NOT a Democrat. Mike Cox is a Republcan. He's a Marine, as is his 18 year old daughter, who is in Iraq- probably surrounding Al Sadr as we speak.

Cox isn't a democrat. He's a republican and a conservative one as well. I happen to know the guy.

He's also right.

Yep...he's right, all right! and I say, "rock on"!!

(I should know, being in a neighbor state...but is Granholme the governor up there? if so, all the more reason the A.G. should speak up)

Yeah, just the other day. I was at a Bush rally and someone mentioned this website where conservatives can discuss the issues.

I believe this man spoke at the Bush visit to Grand Rapids friday. He is a former Marine and his daughter is a Marine stationed in Fallujah.
