DEMS' BULLY STRATEGY
National Review The Corner ^ | August 2, 2004 | KJL

Posted on 08/02/2004 9:36:35 AM PDT by EllaMinnow

Aug. 2, 2004 - U.S. News and World Report (8/9, Bedard) reports in its "Washington Whispers" column, "Reporters, beware: The Democratic Party is revamping its lovey-dovey approach and telling campaign press secretaries to come down like a ton of bricks if you screw up or slip in a little attitude. 'When it comes to the media,' suggests Democratic strategist James Carville, 'intimidation works.' He offers a tactic: 'Send E-mails to the press. They do respond to pressure.' That message was part of the training new campaign press secretaries were given in Boston last week during the party's convention." Press secretaries were urged to "bully the reporter and cow the newsie into tossing you a bone, or hit hard and scare him into changing his tone and coverage."

Heh... I guess he forgot he is a member of congress. Funny how no one called him on it.

Actually, someone in the audience there did call him on it and he said "If they call us back, sure, I'll vote." (or something to that effect)

Nice bit of playing catch-up on Kerry's part, but too little too late. He can have his little moments of immature second guessing and enjoy them while they last.

The REP convention is going to be devastating for the DEMs and W is going to wipe the floor with our favorite 'war hero' during the debates.
This kind of pathetic attempt to look like he knows what he's doing is all he's going to get.

This might end up backfiring on the Dems. Some of the reporters might reject this tactic and start writing stories that are not too favorable about the Dems.

"If they call us back, sure, I'll vote."

ROTFLOL. So much for leading by example. The guy is a grade-a mooch (for lack of several more appropriate words). I look forward to November.

DNC's attempt to micro-manage their media tools to keep them all on the plantation.

The DNC mantra:
'It takes a Village' to unseat President Bush and no one shall stray from the playbook. No one. No strays. Keep the circle tight.

It's tough when the politicians go over a reporter's head to the editors. Editors are even more Democrat-leaning than the reporters.
