I agree with that. My two older ones are opposite. Daughter can handle being out anywhere, autistic son..it is iffy. WE can kind of judge it by how he's behaving at home and if we have made a bad call, we immediately call the excursion short and head home with everyone.
That's the way I see it --- for example a kid might be able to handle a nice restaurant early --- like 5 pm but not at 8 pm --- it all depends and the parents should realize the limitations. I can't see the point in turning an evening out that was supposed to be pleasant for everyone into some crying/shouting/hitting scene.
