I have to agree that Elian belongs w/dad.
There are gazillions of kids living in less-than ideal conditions and they all can't come here ILLEGALLY.
I can't stand the Clinton Administration for almost everything they did, but this is one thing I think they did correctly; as painful and 'mean-spirited' as it seems.

Actually Elian did come here legally. There is a specific provision which allowed Cuban to defect to the USA. It is similar to the provision that allowed USSR defectors to come to the USA by defecting.
Elian was NOT illegal.
Elian was a SLAVE issue not a "parental rights" issue.
