You see, I hold certain truths to be self-evident, among them is that men, all men, are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and that among those rights are life, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of happiness.

If that's true, then you surely agree that Elian's father should have the liberty to have custody of his son? Especially considering Elian's mother is dead??

So why wasn't Elian's Father willing to go through the Court System, instead of having Reno kidnap Elian, against all US laws?

Elian was born out of wedlock. A biological father has no automatic right to custody unless he is married to the mother. He must be awarded custody via a judicial process.

Do you agree or disagree with this point?

Cuba isn't the USA.

Elian's father has no liberty, at any level.

I believe Mr. Gonzalez' point is that individuals have rights. Even a parent cannot violate the rights of their own child. Elian's father had no authority to sell, barter, or otherwise bargain away any of Elian's rights including the right to liberty. Neither did the despicable Clinton.
