Pretty damned pitiful. What is the UN doing? Nothing. Why doesnt the UN form a coaliion to go there and do something. The same people who objected to us going into Iraq surely would go wouldnt they? Would the US join such a coalition? Probably , if we were asked. Everybody wants to cry about the Sudan , but nobody has the guts to do anything, Everbody cried about WMD in the hands of saddam , but nobody had the guts to do anything, then when we went in they screamed like banshee's,If we went into the Sudan they would scream again. So the world stands by and Kofi Annan has another steak at a New York restaurant and nothing is done. The UN=useless.

That's the part that really gets me. Like the Interahamwe in Rwanda, like Arkan's "Tigers" in Bosnia or the RUF in Sierra Leone these clowns aren't soldiers. A tiny number of disciplined professionals could send them running. If even we are not willing to send troops why not hire a couple hundred or so (Sandline, Blackwater, etc.) We've seen what they can do, and for a comparative pittance at that.

This doesn't have squat to do with religion. Any more than Saddam's ostentatiously discovering his faith during the first Gulf War. If a dictator can co-opt religion, he'll happily do so. If he finds religion a threat or an obstacle he'll happily burn, slaughter and persecute. This is about land.
