And thats probably what it'll do too
Bush has to make the tax issue central in the coming weeks. If any independents or thinking RATs, if there are such creatures, hear about Kerry's pie-in-the-sky plans with your money and mine, they'll vote for GW. I can't believe the press is letting this slide. One outrageous in your face decision after another. No medical records, thank you...I don't want you to know about face lifts and botox injections...no tax records from Lovie, a.k.a. TerAYsa (Mama T.), Heinz/Kerry, even though she's sitting on $3 billion. Geraldine Ferraro goes on TV and gushes about how much Lovie gives to charity and isn't that wonderful. It's mindboggling.
not anymore..
Lurch's so-called plan is a classic liberal line-punish "The wealthy" to give back to the poor-except that such punishment will discourage economic expansion, which means that more people will be unemployed, which means more taxes to "Help" them, which means everybody will suffer as a result-except, of course, the wealthy liberal asshats like Kerry who will always somehow manage to avoid paying anything themselves.
He still refuses to release his military records in full... while the AP is suing for Bush's... not Kerry's.
Talk about double standards
You're right about Bush making taxes central to the campaign, and if this is just his opening shot I tihnk he's blown a hole in the side of the Scaramouche.* Kerry rolled out what he thought was the big gun in the dem playbook--Raise Taxes on the Rich--and Bush pulled a Road Runner v. Coyote on him, using a commonly-known truism every man or woman around a water cooler knows to be the case.
Kerry just made himself look like a promise-them-everything pol. Whatever one's feelings about Bush, everyone who hears him say that will say "Well, THAT's true."
Will it convert anyone? Nope. It isn't meant to--it's meant to set up a conversation, so to speak. W will build on this, while Kerry is stuck in his corner. Dems accuse Bush of using tax cuts as his only economic policy, but he just showed that Kerry's only policy--tax raises--are a scam that leaves the middle class holding the bill.
He's just set up the base for showing how tax cuts for ALL are the way to go.
*The name of John K's yacht. ;)
Its like that one bill that would force corporations to pay more taxes on their off-shore activities. He added an exemption for the Heinz Corporation... where was the media?
Talk about double standards

Found it.
Unbelievable!
You are assuming that the RATS will gain control of Congress. If, God forbid, sKerry was elected without a RAT Congress, he couldn't get anything passed. 4 wonderful years of gridlock.
Gridlock is the way it should be!
But I'd rather it be with Bush in charge...:)
A true republican is one who wishes congress was in session for one month out of the year, and he'd be calling for early recess from about day 6 on.
A true democrat is the one who wishes there were 13 months in every year, and congress was in session every day.
Although I agree fully, GWB can't do that between now and November. It would please the base, but that's not where the political battle is.
Thanks!
If Bush brings this up at the debates when Kerry pulls an Enron/Haliburton, the election's over! :)
and he might announce something really big regarding WMD's in Iraq. Do not rule it out.
"Gridlock is the way it should be"!
Not in time of war. We need SOLID Republican action on many fronts. Don't be lulled into things that are important, but not life saving!!! We NEED solid Republican MAJORITIES, delivering SOLID Republican solutions!!!

Smart Robot
A popular bar had a new robotic bartender installed. It could not only dispense drinks flawlessly, but also -- like any good bartender -- engage in appropriate conversation.
A man enters the bar, orders a drink. The robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, then asks him, "What's your IQ?" The man replies, "150." And the robot proceeds to make conversation about Quantum physics, string theory, atomic chemistry, etc. The customer is very impressed and thinks, "This is really cool."
He decides to test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, and comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him the drink and asks him, "What's your IQ?" The man responds, "100." And immediately the robot starts talking, but this time, about football, baseball, cheerleaders, etc.
Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one more test. He goes back in, the robot serves him and asks, "What's your IQ?" The man replies, "50." And the robot says, "So, you gonna vote for Kerry? "
