Kerry will not win. Unfortunately, it will not be a rejection of leftist policies, per se -- the man is simply unattractive and not likeable. Swing voters are influenced by those sorts of factors, and boy, did the Dems pick a dud.
My husband says it's way too early to bother with polls. Right now the suspense means ratings for the press, otherwise, there'd be nothing to talk about.
He says Bush will win easily, the Dems will scream "voter fraud", they'll weep and gnash their teeth, and life will go on as usual.
boy, did the Dems pick a dud.
They picked a dud for a reason. Clintons OWN Kerry, he is merely a puppet, dems win this election and Hillary doesn't have a chance in 2008. Its a smoke screen and sham, Bush will win but only so she can have it next time around.
I disagree with you about it not being a rejection of leftist politics. At this convention, Kerry did his best to sound like a Democratic Ronald Reagan. The word "liberal" or "progressive" never once crossed a single speaker's lips. This is a party that could not tell people who it was and what it believed in. If this is a liberal country, Kerry should have said, "I am a liberal and proud of it," and then defended his Senate record. He did neither. In effect, the Democrats by running as pretend Republicans, have accepted the Right's indictment of them as being out of touch with mainstream America. And being downright phony adds to the sense they can't for whatever reason, offer the American people a real alternative.

Can you imagine, the morons vote for personality vs. policy, these people shouldn't even be allowed to vote.

So the only leftists to get elected are people like Clinton (who talks about tax cuts for the "middle class," then doesn't produce) or Kerry (who does everything he can to appear to be a "war hero" and "common man").
Agree totally, in fact I've been saying the same thing. In fact, I almost kinda feel sorry for the guy (I said almost).Unfortunately, I also agree that his defeat won't be a rejection of the left by the mushy moderates, but simply their lack of attraction to a Godawful candidate.
...."and boy, did the Dems pick a dud."
Dean imploded, Kerry was the last choice. Bwahahahaha.
