British news replayed Kerry's salute. The only word that sprung to my mind was one used here - "dork".

I looked around to find a bucket, it gave me a sharp attack of gastro-gymnastics. The rest of the speach bored me senseless, and I started to do the cross-word to keep me awake.

If "Dork" isn't already British slang for "John Kerry," could you possibly arrange to make it so?

Thanks greatly, MI!

This weekend, both chose Michigan and Ohio, so tightly fought that a few hundred voters could overturn the result. But the same is true for a dozen states, most larger than Britain.

I have a theory that everything is larger than Britain.

``My opponent has good intentions, but intentions don’t always translate into results. After 19 years in the United States Senate, my opponent has had thousands of votes but very few signature achievements.''

Absolutely right.
No point in 'talking the talk', if you can't 'walk the walk'. :-)

But as yesterday morning came and Americans began to digest Mr Kerry’s acceptance speech over their breakfasts

Good grief! So they could immediately blow their breakfast?

Wow, some people are able to digest a whole truckload of manure! That's quite amazing.

"I will bring back this nation’s time-honored tradition: the United States of America never goes to war because we want to; we only go to war because we have to. That is the standard of our nation."

The Standard Mr. Kerry is to protect America from harm, it takes a man who can act with cool deliberation and no appeasing the enemy, Kerry is not the man who can do that to do that. Mr. Kerry is still denying America was attacked on September 11, 2001. He is leaning on his specious, scant four months in Viet Nam, some 30+ years ago and some medals he most likely, in part, received falsely to convince Americans to vote for him – what a foolish man he is. How foolish anyone would be to vote for a man who has shown such traitorous tendencies towards his countrymen, he left them on the battle field, bleeding and told horrific, untrue lies about them. John Kerry is the communist puppet for Hanoi and other Marxist countries.

JOHN KERRY IS NOT FIT TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY - HE WAS NOT A FIT SOLDIER.

I count 3 quotes from Bush and 5 from sKerry. Typical.

Those who had expected the oratorically challenged Mr Kerry to flop were disappointed. He made his entrance through the crowd, not from the stage, his 6ft 4in frame towering above even some of the delegates with tall hats, adding to the drama.

Well, seems we have the inarticulate Bush now coupled with the oratorically-challenged Kerry. When will America come up with another Hollywood politician that the media can really fall on it's knees and worship again?? (/sarc)

I saw a BBC report that referred to Kerry's salute as "cheesy." Does "cheesy" mean the same to Brits as it does to Americans?

IMO, Bush has to pull a Ross Perot and quick. I am talking about Ross Perot's infomercials. The Iraq War is simply the right thing to do, and America should do it again if necessary.

Perot presented the most complicated economic issues neatly in 1/2 hour segments over three consecutive Sunday evenings. Same could be done for Iraq.

Hold up posters ala Ross, of dead/tortured Iraqis under Saddam. Then poster of the 101 UN resolutions Saddam ignored. Then show Putin with the words "I told America that Saddam was planning attacks inside America." Then show KKadafi of Libya admitting Libya's nucleur plans that were thwarted due to America's actions in Iraq. ect, ect.

A whole segement would need to be done about the dangers and tactics of militant Islam and how much its connected to the Democrats, Greenpeace movement, and hollywood.

But I don't suppose Bush or the GOP would do anything so effective. It's pretty pathetic fellow freepers.

Actually. I think most of us had already barfed it out the previous night.
