Did you know....
that ADC had a space launch unit at Vandenberg AFB?
I am not sure of the years but in 1964 a SAC unit launched the first,then classified USAF weather satellite on a Scout. I was in the HQ SAC weather center downloading pictures. Some years after ADC was the launch agency for the more advanced Defense Meteorological Satellite Program. The Thor was the booster. I ran a user site in VietNam,and later ended my career as operations director in the program office and engineering director at Sac HQ. This joint program was given to Space Command on Titan boosters after I retired.

More than you needed to know. First"Blue Scout"was in 1962. ADC launches are in this link(I think)
