Liberal "caring" typically consists of talking about how much they "care" about others, not actually caring about others. Many people who "care" so much about the disadvantaged -- people in the abstract -- don't care about people in particular -- people they know, people they can personally help. Liberal "caring" is a attitude intends to make the liberal feel good about herself and look good to fellow liberals. It's not about being good.
