Guys,

You've got it all wrong. Voters are looking for qualities. Bush has already accentuated "leadership" and "conviction." Expect these to be followed with "compassion" to swing the female vote back.

"Conviction" and "leadership" are what voters view Kerry as lacking. Now he has to steal the "compassion" issue, and it's over. If you are looking for slick attack ads, don't expect it.

(What I would like to see is a recounting of the good economic news, but they might be waiting until after next Friday's payroll number...)

Most people don't know much about Kerry. The media is sure not going to tell them. Heck, my own wife didn't know that he was only in Vietnam for four months and got scratches to get sent home early.

Attack ads work. We can't worry that the media will say Bush is being "negative" by highlighting Kerry's record.

Problem is...
The way you demonstrate values is not by some fuzzy, abstract words that could be snatched directly from the dialog of some 1930s film.

You don't emphasize freedom by saying the word - you emphasize it by describing (and showing photos that represent) things he's done to enhance freedom - tax cuts, Afghans, Iraqis, etc. You enphasize conviction by talking about when Bush stood his ground - after 9/11, and yes even with Iraq.
