If opponents of immigration had succeeded over the past 20 years, two-thirds of the most outstanding future American scientists and mathematicians would not be here today because US policy would have barred their parents from entering the United States,

Putting aside the fuzzy math assumptions, who are these "opponents" of "immigration?"

Pat Buchanan and Michael Savage are two prime examples. Surely you do not deny that there is anti-immigrant sentiment among some in the US.

Fuzzy math? Poll after poll finds that over 60% of Americans want to see immigration reduced. When asked what level they would prefer, most want a trickle of under 100,000.
