Democrats Are People of Faith, Too
Fox News ^ | Thursday, July 29, 2004 | Kelley Beaucar Vlahos

Democrats can be people of faith, too. They can pray out loud, they can sing hymns and invoke God's name in their speeches. They can even agree to disagree with their partisan pals on hot button issues like gay marriage and abortion.

And they say religion is not solely the domain of Republicans.

"It's not true – the media may be the last group to figure that out – but it's not the case," said Jim Wallis, a Christian activist for Call to Renewal (search). Wallis was one of several speakers at a "People of Faith" luncheon sponsored by the Democratic National Convention (search) in Boston on Wednesday.

"Our faith has been stolen and it's time to take it back," he added.

The ballroom at the Sheraton Boston Hotel on Wednesday was filled with representatives from the Jewish, Muslim and Christian faiths, including Evangelicals and Baptists, who said it was okay to mix politics and religion in an effort to fulfill long-standing goals of eradicating poverty and taking care of the most needy Americans.

Still, even attendees at the event admitted that the caucus was a novelty.

You can't tell me that people who endorse liars like Clinton, Gore and Kerry are really Christians. You can't tell me that endorsing "gay" marriage, abortion, and all the rest are really Christians. If you are truly faithful, you live what you believe, and your vote reflects that faith.

They agree like GRAMSCI agreed - infiltrate, ridicule, then make the STATE the RELIGION!

That is exactly what these leftist-radicals are doing - with the help of the homosexual pedophiles who infiltrated the U.S. Catholic Church, Anglican, Baptist, etc etc ...

They have one goal - to DESTROY true Christianity and replace it with the STATE as their god.

"Our faith has been stolen and it's time to take it back," he added.

So let me get this straight -- according to this guy, Chritianity has been "stolen" by people who think homosexuality is an abomination and that killing babies in the womb is murder?

Oh.

Being a democrat today, you cannot possibly believe in God, it goes against all of Marx's idealogy. They have faith alright, in government they trust.

The traditional religious conservative democrats that I know are all looking at the Constitution Party.

I heard this recently on vacation to my parent's hometown.

They don't want to give support either to President Bush or to Pro-Gay/Abortion Kerry, so they're looking elsewhere.

Judging from the actions of their self-appointed (and self-anointed) leadership, their devotionals would appear to be directly mainly at the likes of Baal and Molech.

People of Faith, just like...

...the Religion of Peace...

...my backside!

in an effort to fulfill long-standing goals of eradicating poverty

In other words, when He said the poor would always be with us, the Lord was either lying or wrong.

Cute. Real cute.

Quoting a minister here:

I don't know how anyone can go to church on Sunday, and vote for a democrat the following Tuesday.

Democrats may say they have faith but they don't let it interfere with how they conduct their lives, what they will tolerate, and who they will vote for.

DU had a poll recently asking for the spiritual inclinations of the members. The solid majority of respondants were atheist. FWIW.

Jimmy Carter comes to mind.
