Oh, and Conners whipped his ass all the time. McEnroe beat Connors 31-20 head to head over their careers. One of the ugliest asskickings in Wimbeldon history was McEnroe's 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 pancaking of Connors in the 84 final.
Don't diss Mac. The only guy he couldn't beat was Lendl.
