The idea that people on the left want to enact policies that would return us to those days is just horrifying.

Agreed..I remember listening to Jimmah's speech on the radio that night...He pounded the table during parts of it. I wanted to post it because of all the hoopla he received in the hype for his speech during the convention. What you have written and this speech proves the ineffectiveness of this president and why our country went into a tailspin.

I like how in his speech Jimmah says he hasn't run for president in 28 years....uh, Jimmie, that's 24 years, don't forget when you got totally trounced by Reagan in 80 because you were one of worst, most ineffectual presidents EVER!
