The "9/11 Generation." I suspect 9/11 was a much more definitive moment for a lot of young people than most realize.

Good news, but young voters are less likely to go to the polls.

Maybe we could put out a trail of pizzaz?

Understandable.

As a younger person I'd be annoyed, too, at the Boomers inability to get over themselves. Its annoyed me my entire life, and I'm one of 'em.

Kerry is the quintessential Boomer.

We all know that the Left are essentially defined these days by their overt reliance on the Baby Boomer hippie freaks. In 10 years, they will be THE political faction of the well aged!.....

A disproportionate number of kids who would have been young Democrats ended their short lives as medical waste in abortuary dumpsters.

It's an anti-Moore backlash. Moore, on campuses, is an "establishment figure" due to the leftist (I almost typed "laughtist!") near-monopoly. The youts are rebelling against the obvious attempt at manipulation from the "Master of Deceit".

I have been talking with a number of 18 to 26 year olds recently. What I have discovered astonished me because of the stereotypes we have of young people as the gimme generation. I can assure you the young people I have talked with are not part of a gimme generation -- and they know that the Democrats are the gimme party.

So what did I learn?

First, young people understand taxes paid vastly exceed value returned, particularly at the state level here in Massachusetts. The associate taxation with the Democrats.

Second, they understand that even if they do not progress upward in terms of real dollars, by the time they are 40 simple cost of living raises (starting at $25k where they pay about 15% of $5k, or about $750, in taxes, they will be making (assuming about 3.2% inflation) about $45k. That money will have no more purchasing power than it does today, but taxes will tak a much deeper bite. That is, they understand progressive taxation is what prevents creates poverty.

Third, they understand John Kerry is a poser.

Fourth, they dislike the sue-to-get-rich mentality fostered by trial lawyers -- and they hate being lectured by trial lawyers about how they help people recover damages for injuries. Most understand trial lawyers more often play to the sympathies of the jurors and tell tall tales concerning about the plaintiff's plight.

This article isn't saying much people. The younger people in this poll are actual Southerners and most Cubans. The older people are Yankee carpetbaggers from New York and New Jersey. They are the only reason a state like Florida is even remotely competitive.

PING!

Some good news, here. The trends you spoke of are bearing fruit.

However, both the conservative movement and the Republicam party might look a lot different if the current crop of young people someday control its direction.

I see a lot of polls showing young voters supporting Kerry rather than Bush.

However, interesting article.

And this poll was from last week:

"Bush leads Kerry in the 18-34 age group 50 percent to 43 percent..."
