The polls have been consistent. Several weeks back Kerry was ahead 5 points, it later narrowed to 3 and now it's a dead heat. Bush is clearly gaining ground in NJ. September 11 makes national security very much an issue with NJ voters, the NJ economy is doing quite well, residents are upset with new McGreevey taxes and there is a lot of support for the military here as well. I predict Bush will pull an upset in NJ.
Patrick, I hope you're right! The GOP convention in NYC will be very close-by and I hope it exudes positive energy and optimism and DETERMINATION that 9-11 will not be repeated. After what we are seeing in Boston- the massive controls- the silly absurd out-of-touch stalwarts like TeddyK and the nutjobs like TerAyza- I think the GOP has a chance to make a BIG move up in the polls with our convention.
