Report from my husband and daughter watching CSPAN after the convention had ended and delegates in the hall were speaking to the CSPAN microphones from the floor of the center.

They told me two different delegates talked about Obama but called him *Osama* accidentally, then corrected themselves.

They came in the office to tell me (I had OD'd on the coverage already) so I could report on FR when a THIRD person did the same thing.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I think I see a teeny problem with the dems' new potential star.

I have seen this guy speek a few times on TV. He is indeed going to be trouble sometime down the road--he's going to be a Senator, no doubt about it...unless there's some superstar candidate the GOP can pull out of the hat very soon.

Just an interesting observation.

I remember about 48 years ago at the Democrats' convention a young man delivered what was thought to be a strong and "inspirational" speech to the delegates. He was immediately hailed as a bright new star in the Democratic party and the media speculated that someday he might run for the highest office. He was a young black man named Julian Bond.

I heard this same kind of media buzz over 30 years ago about a "dynamic" and young black state legislator named Julian Bond. Where is he now? I thought he was going to be the first black president. Oops! My bad, there has already has been one, Bill "Arkansas Dirt Clod" Clinton! If--God forbid--John "F" Kerry were elected then he would be the second black president.

No real need for Obama, the democrats have used "affirmative action" to place white men in the position that would have ordinarily gone to a black man.
