No surprise. I left Louisiana, moving the family in the process, after 30+ years there(late '80's = lack of engineering jobs there) and moved to Texas for work.

Don't have an answer but some of the unique mindsets(the lotto and/or casinos will save us!) are no help at all.

"layoffs in the chemical industry, which has been hurt by high natural gas prices." How 'bout that natural gas pipeline from Alaska that will never get built?
