Rush pointed out this morning that even political scientist Larry Sabato says Kerry will be the next President. Sabato says, Democrats are convinced GWBush will be defeated.
I think we might have a case here of over confidence on the part of the librats.
It's still PresBush`s election to lose. The Bush-Cheney campaign is hanging its reelection hopes on their efforts in the closing 13 weeks of the general campaign. With something like $155 million left to spend, Bush-Cheney has designs on an all out blitz to get back in the lead. All things being somewhat equal at this point, the election is far from over.

I took two classes from Sabato at UVA - Politics 101 and a seminar on campaigns and elections. He was a real liberal in his youth, but as I got to know him he is a pretty objective political analyst. I always felt he knew Virginia politics better than U.S. but I would be interested to see the justification for his Kerry prediction.

50 million of that money will be spent on retail - door to door politics. that means neighbors will show up and ask people to give their vote to President Bush. Cocky people don't go door to door- you can bet that some of the four million that stayed home in 2000 will show up this time.

There are a LOT of important truths and revelations that may come out before November. WMD may be located. Hell, WMD may be USED. Osama may be caught. Revelations about Iraq, OKC, flight 800 or other perfidies may be brought to light. And we still haven't shaken out Sandy Berger's pants yet.
All these things, not to mention whatever may be brought to light about Kerry, will affect the only poll that matters.
