These kind of statements are so off the wall, that Democrats can't even take them seriously. The Dem leadership knows that the AWB cost them control of the US House of Representatives several years ago and that it cost them the Presidency in the last election. While they would like to do extend the ban, and if every regain power are likely to impose such a law, I don't see them being so stupid at to try it this year. They are tired of being out of power and will lie to the public in hopes that the public does not remember what the Dem's really stand for.
It was the AWB that caused the 'Rats to lose control of Congress in the first place. The AWB is dead as a mannequin in a dept store.
