I am even more disappointed now in Ditka for not running. There needed to be a conservative opponent against this kind of candidate that had some chance of winning. His country called and Mike refused to answer. Disappointing.
What, precisely, qualifies football coach/TV commentator Mike Ditka to be a United States Senator? Conservatives need to eschew the "cult of celebrity" that liberals so enthusiastically embrace. A better statement might be: "Their country called, and all the qualified Illinois Republican Congressmen and State Representatives preferred to keep their safe seats rather than answer."
Senator Obama will be a disaster.
Hopefully we will pick up enough to at least break even......not lose Senate seats.
Who is running? Is there a deadline for the Republicans to nominate someone?
