KERRY SHOVES BACK (And Poses For Ridiculous Photo-Kerry's Dukakis Moment)

The famously off-the-cuff Heinz Kerry is scheduled to address the delegates tonight. At the Kennedy Center, her husband violated the cardinal rule of politics — getting his picture taken in a ridiculous outfit.

Visiting the space shuttle Discovery, Kerry donned dust-free overalls that made him resemble the sperm cells in Woody Allen's "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid To Ask)."

Republican operatives issued a press release featuring the photo and its predecessor — the famous shot of 1988 Democratic nominee Mike Dukakis wearing an ill-fitting tank helmet.

"It's the picture worth a thousand words," said a GOP strategist as he chortled over the photo of Kerry.

But Democrats were not concerned.

"The brilliant Republicans who put George Bush in a flight suit to strut around an aircraft carrier won't get very far giving advice to NASA about the kinds of coveralls to wear," said Kerry campaign spokesman David Wade.

I am trying to recover from abdominal surgery and need to find out from the surgeon as to whether laughing at the dork and/or comments about the dork is helping or hindering the healing process.

Carry on.

1. The brilliant Republicans didn't come up with that idea. It was Bush's own.

2. That sentence in quotes doesn't make any sense to me.

Elect John Kerry ... to be the Easter bunny

OK I know this is a crosspost on my part, but I couldn't pass it up. Sorry ... also corrected a few things.

Dateline: Kennedy Space Center -- July 26, 2004

In a whirlwind tour of the Kennedy Space Center, just days before his June 29th acceptance of his party's nomination for President, Democratic candidate John Kerry, in a spur-of-the-moment decision, decided to show his versatality and multi-tasking ability, by turning his NASA visit into a demonstration of how he is concerned with several issues in his campaign; stem-cell research, increasing costs of senior citizen's prescription drugs and NASA space exploration.

Not being content with addressing the concerns of senior citizen's complaints of the increased costs of prescription medications, candidate Kerry decided, instead, to tackle the concerns of advocates for natural health, which he perceives will win him the Green Nader votes.

Therefore, in a stroke of genius which took his campaign staff by total surprise, presidential hopeful Kerry allowed himself to be photographed emerging from a NASA clean room, dressed as a stem cell, while receiving a high colonic.

Leaving the Kennedy Space Center, Senator Kerry was asked as to the relevance of his actions, whereupon he replied: "It was a very cleansing moment for me -- I was unclogged before I knew I was clogged."

"And the Kerry picture HAS to remind old-timers of Dukakis' infamous "tank commander" picture."

HEY! I resent that! I'll have you know that I haven't attained to old timer status yet!

" Kerry looks like a straight-up DORK!!!"

Let's face it. He looks like a dork no matter what he wears, it's just that this picture takes his dorkiness to new levels.

I guess some people think that any suit other than a three-piece business suit is ridiculous. How elitist is that? >>

With respect, comrade, what you do (or did) is honorable, because it is (or was) your profession. What he is doing is an embarassment, because he's playing "let's pretend I'm an astronaut!"

I'm the Urban Spaceman

I'm the Urban Spaceman, baby,
I've got speed.
I've got everything I need.
I'm the Urban Spaceman, baby,
I can fly.
I'm a supersonic guy.

I don't need pleasure,
I don't feel pain.
If you were to knock me down,
I'd just get up again.
I'm the Urban Spaceman, baby,
I'm making out
I'm all about

I wake up every morning with a smile upon my face.
My natural exuberance spills out all over the place.

I'm the Urban Spaceman,
I'm intelligent and clean.
Know what I mean?
I'm the Urban Spaceman,
As a lover, second to none.
It's a lot of fun.

I never let my friends down,
I've never made a boob.
I'm a glossy magazine, an advert in the tube.
I'm the Urban Spaceman, baby, here comes the twist.
I don't exist.

I guess I'm just used to seeing people in those garments.
