I'll go first. I've been on this Forum for a while and have had the time to make a lot of enemies. I'm putting everything that's happened in the past into the grave and making a new start with everyone (you know who you are). I pledge to argue my case, but will always remember that even though we have differences, you ultimately are my friend in the trenches.

I'm going to propose that we all make a new start.

FREE REPUBLIC II...The Sequel!

Available on a computer near you...

You won't believe your eyes when you see:
-Once banished FReepers writing love notes to JimRob and The Mods!
-Once banished trolls who now FReep Kerry and Hillary around the world!
-Photos of the GOP-Libertarian-Constitution Party L-O-V-E-F-E-S-T!
-And many other miraculous displays of Kum-ba-ya!

* The Crevo threads, however, remained unchanged and eventually moved to the WWF website chat room.

I have been here for a while myself and cannot recall having crossed swords with you personally but certianly HAVE done so with others. Because of that and because I find your pledge so compelling I will simply join you and repeat it on my own behalf.

"The last few months I've seen an increasing trend for FReepers to start going for each others jugular."

Maybe it's the closeted leftist tendencies coming out.

Bob it depends on what you mean when you allude to the 'good of the whole, as opposed to the individual'. that is collectivism. truth comes from God and truth does not change. Liberty and freedom can only exist when we have a Godly people. So when many in the GOP continue to slide to the left and become basically liberal socialists, of course the people on the right arent going to crouch down and accept it, so as not to 'hurt anyones feelings'.

Conservative Christian Constitutional principles come above any party and above any political candidate. if a party or candidate caves in, compromises or betrays the principles conservatifes believe in, we don't ''go along for the ride''.

so that is why you have people who are unprincipled attempting to bash, belittle and insult those who stick to righteousness.

the truth is, there is no united front except if it is based in truth- the morality and liberty that is bestowed upon us by God. without that, you have nothing. so i will not support rino candidates who destroy our party by supporting evil and wickedness.

I'd like to publicly thank you for starting this topic, and for the email. Thanks, Bob.

Another ridiculous criticism, in my view, is about the font I usually use here. It's called "comic sans ms", it isn't in boldface (except for titles, authors, dates, that kind of thing, the same kind one finds in message one of every FR thread), it isn't all caps, and it isn't sized up. I'm simply not interested in anyone's opinion about how it causes eye cancer or high blood pressure or anything else. :')

noble in principle, and I laud your intent, but I suspect it will have little salutory effect.

I think we're blessed here on FreeRepublic -- we have very few dipshits and trolls, and fewer still professional delusionists. It's not unheard of, naturally, but very few.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

I was here in Oct 2000 under a different name. Back then, it was a much more 'dog eat dog' world.

We had to be very careful with what we posted, and this was good. It forced us to think about what we believed and how we wrote it.

I've been back at FR for several months, I've posted some things that made me cringe. I knew I was gonna get flamed, and yet I got nothing.

Unless you are on a catholic thread, the posts/responses are pretty mild.

Post # 1 - I'm putting everything that's happened in the past into the grave and making a new start with everyone

Well, you made it 40 posts before busting on someone!

That's longer than I've ever gone! ;^)

We can debate nuance, but not believe that our personal positions are more important than the health of the whole.

I disagree. Promoting the whole at the cost of the individual is a Communistic concept. Rugged individualism is one of the strengths of conservatism.
